Infoflash #397 - Exclusive Talks for the Acquisition of the Luxel Group

Armed with its renowned team in the solar energy sector, the Luxel Group has about one gigawatt (1,000 MWp) gross capacity in operation, ready to build or under development. The purpose of the deal is to accelerate the development of EDF Renewables in photovoltaic energy in France and to leverage on the additional resources brought by this transaction to execute its Solar Plan that aims at reaching a 30% market share in solar energy in France, between 2020 and 2035.

Luxel owns solar plants totalling close to 90 MWp gross capacity, operates around 130 MWc, mainly located in the south of France, and has a portfolio of around 900 MWp of projects at various stages of development. Its team of around 40 photovoltaic specialists is split across 6 development offices and its headquarter in Pérols (Hérault department).

A preliminary agreement opening a period of exclusive talks with the shareholders of the Luxel Group has been entered into with the objective to reach a final agreement on the acquisition by EDF Renewables of the entire share capital of the Luxel Group.

"The acquisition of Luxel, a renowned independent specialist in France’s solar energy segment, represents a very good  growth opportunity for EDF. Bringing the two companies and their teams together will allow us to accelerate our development in solar energy in the country. This industrial and human project will contribute meeting the objectives laid down in EDF’s Solar Plan and the French multiannual energy programming. It fits with the Cap 2030 strategy, under which EDF aims to double until 50 GW nets, its renewable energy capacity in France and worldwide between 2015 and 2030."
Bruno Bensasson

"We are delighted with the contemplated project of joining forces with EDF Renewables. It would enable to generate a major player in the field of photovoltaic energy , both in France and worldwide."
Bruno Spinner, President of Luxel

Windows 10 Upgrade Underway for US and Canada Field By Matt McColm

In keeping with the EDF Renewables corporate digital transformation strategy all computers issued to employees are being upgrading to Windows 10. Windows 10 provides faster performance and increased reliability and will support faster patching for updates as well as enhanced security. Over 1,000 laptops have already been updated (or replaced as needed) and the last phase is to replace laptops for the O&M Field employees.

IT Support Services has begun the effort of coordinating with O&M Field employees. The effort includes significant prerequisites for the replacement computers to be configured in advance. If you are contacted about the Windows 10 upgrade your prompt response is appreciated.

Contact Matt McColm, Manager IT Support Services, with any questions.
