Bruno Bensasson's greetings to employees

Bruno Bensasson, CEO, EDF Renouvelables

Dear colleagues,

I would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your loved ones a happy, healthy and successful new year.

The year 2018 was a decisive one for our company and for the role of renewable energies within the EDF Group with important developments in North America, Europe and in emerging markets. More generally, it fixed renewables on the world energy scene, placing wind and solar power at the heart of the energy mix. We are now in a very strong position for future development in France and many other countries alike. This will allow us to look forward to the future confidently — with great excitement, but also a sense of responsibility.

Our development model, agility and ability to innovate are indisputable assets in today’s competitive landscape. We have relaunched solar energy with the Solar Power Plan in France, but also in the rest of the world, where we are making significant developments, and the same can be said for onshore wind power. We also have big plans when it comes to electricity storage, with the launch of the Group’s ambitious programme for storage — a field where we will play a leading role. And we are very active in offshore wind power, with initial projects to build in France and the United Kingdom, strong ambitions for the East Coast of the United States and prospects in China.

In 2019, EDF Renewables must continue to step up its growth to triple its net installed capacity by 2030 and reach the targets of CAP 2030. We should therefore maintain our efforts by capitalizing on all our know‑how and assets and increase our efficiency by using new digital technologies. We must also continue to strengthen cooperation within the company and in the EDF Group, in particular in the Division with EDF Hydro. In France, the Multiannual Energy Programme announced by the government recently offers us many opportunities, which we must seize in order to boost our growth.

We should continue to innovate in all areas, for all of our projects. That is how, in an increasingly competitive environment, we will continue to create value for our employees, customers and shareholders and contribute to the fight against climate change, at the lowest possible cost for our Society.

I would like to thank each and every one of you for your day‑to‑day commitment — which I know is considerable — and for your engagement with your duties and projects, as well as for your ambition and initiative, all of which will help us achieve new successes in 2019.

Again, I wish you all a very happy New Year!

Bruno BENSASSON
