Forging Ahead in 2019!

A Message of Reflection and Thanks from Tristan Grimbert, President and CEO

Dear Team Members,

The year drawing to a close is an opportunity to take a little rest, recharge our batteries and take some time to enjoy our loved ones. It is also a perfect time to reflect on the incredible amount of accomplishment this year. This is not the right time to list all of them, but between a big splash in offshore, our Asset Optimization re-organization, the securitization of a tremendous 2020 peak year through development excellence and procurement tenacity, the first contracts for 2021 and 2022 like Jackson 5, Cypress and Morris Ridge, the growth of the storage business, the acquisition of Entersolar, the amount of accomplishments this year is impressive and covers all aspects of our businesses and all geographies, from Grid-Scale Power to Distributed Solutions, from Oaxaca to Alberta, California to New York.

I would like to express once again my most sincere thanks for the relentless dedication you demonstrated throughout the year 2018; and also to offer my best wishes for a special holiday season. I recognize and appreciate what each of you gives to our company and I am truly grateful.

We operate in a very complex and demanding industry which requires courage to achieve long term success. We welcomed over 300 new members to the EDFR family and internally promoted nearly 100, our success is grounded in your skills and commitment. Our wins come not only from individual contribution, but also from combined team effort and talents. I firmly believe it is the trust in one another that will propel us to even greater success.

We forge into 2019 with 1.7 GW in construction; 1.5 GW in our contracted backlog for implementation; and another 3.7 GW of projects that are in exclusive negotiations or shortlisted.  These are simply remarkable metrics and cause to reflect with pride.  For me, these GWs demonstrate what can result with rigor, creativity and agility, and most importantly – teamwork and trust.

I can’t express how proud I am of all the hurdles we’ve crossed, the challenges we’ve overcome, and the solutions we’ve innovated together.  I am honored and thankful every day to be part of such a team.

Tristan Grimbert
