On June 14, EDF Renewables Canada held their first community open house for the Bull Trail Wind Project. The Open House is an important part of the Project team’s engagement and consultation process with community members, local First Nations, local government officials and local businesses to ensure that the final project design is socially, environmentally and economically sustainable.
ABOUT THE PROJECT
The proposed Bull Trail Wind Power Project of up to 300 megawatts (MW), is located south of the hamlet of Irvine in Cypress County, Alberta. The Project will consist of 65 to 100 turbines with a capacity of 3 MW to 4.5 MW per turbine.

The Blythe off-shore wind project is the first off-shore project to use float and submerge technology. Its 8.3 MW turbines are amongst the most powerful to be used offshore.
The West Burton B battery storage facility is the largest project in the new frequency control system which will be deployed across the UK to improve stability of the national grid.

Proposals will be evaluated according to two main criteria:
EDF EN management will select the best idea from 10 semi-finalists. The best idea will be financed and implemented within the EDF EN Group. The results will be announced in September.
